2016: A Year in Review

2016 was quite a year in the Bella offices! With over 20 weddings and events over the course of the year, we were thrilled to spend our year celebrating so much love and such fabulous couples. From Keystone to Beaver Creek to Aspen, Colorado was our playground, and you can bet we had a blast bringing all of these amazing events to life! Here’s a little peek into what we were up to over the past 12 months. We can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store! Continue reading

Lee and Neal’s Sneak Peak at the Ritz-Carlton

I couldn’t wait to share these gorgeous images sent from the very talented Dallas photographer, John Cain.  We will have more eye candy next week but wanted to post a sneak peak at the gorgeous Warmack & McDonald wedding photos from this past weekend at the Ritz-Carlton.  Lee dreamt of a Dallas ballroom wedding in the mountains- my oh my it was, and she was, and he was just gorgeous.

Sarah and Carlos’s Wedding at the Beaver Creek Chapel and Saddle Ridge

Best wishes to Sarah and Carlos on their gorgeous wedding in Beaver Creek! This is one of the nicest families I have ever encountered and I am so happy for them. Sarah and Carlos envisioned a winter wedding that celebrated the beauty of Colorado, so they chose Saddle Ridge for their reception. This property houses the country’s largest private collection of Western art. Throughout the venue one can find everything from vintage copper plates, first edition books, and native head dresses to antique bars, billiards and chaise lounges. This is a gem of a venue and provides a truly unique experience. I loved Sarah’s incorporation of pheasant feathers into her birch centerpieces and silver cake stands mixed in with wood votives all presented on a simple ice blue linen runner on bare wood tables surround by an eclectic mix of wooden chairs. I also loved the snowflake accents throughout. . . I think this Texas and New Mexico crowd enjoyed their winter escape.  Big hug to the James Christianson film and photography team.

The groom loves to fly fish so his bride and baker, Katy Schabert, designed an almost too lifelike trout groom’s cake.

Pheasant feathers in the floral centerpieces. LOVE.

Votives were displayed in hollowed out birch branches.

The cake by Sugar is gorgeous. It was adorned in crystals, branches and snowflakes inspired by the invitations.

East Coast Prep Style Wedding at Beano’s Cabin

This was the first wedding that I actually planned with a groom, and I have to say it was shockingly fun! Erin is an in-demand nurse in the ICU at Johns Hopkins and Steve is the owner of the Portside Tavern Bar in Baltimore. Since Erin was slammed and Steve had his days free, we became the planning duo that brought this wedding to its natural beauty fruition. I LOVED this wedding. It just felt right in its surroundings, fresh in perspective and rich in camaraderie. Plus, having Steve’s input on the groomsmen attire was wonderful. Navy J. Crew suits with gingham shirts, coordinating ties and buck skin shoes. These former collegiate lacrosse players looked sharp. Congrats Erin and Steve!!!! xoxo

Playing it coy but really he can barely stand up. The first look nearly sent him down.

I love that her nail polish and the red Hypericum berries match.

The wedding party! Incorporating sleek yet traditional navy blue with the rustic floral elements.

Navy gingham shirts with J Crew navy suits finished off with buckskin shoes and twine wrapped boutonniers.

I loved this simple design of the ceremony site. With a spectacular view in all directions one doesn’t need to add much. Thus, I’ve included photos from angle.
