destination wedding in Wyoming

Colorado will always have my heart – it’s home, after all! – but recently there’s been a lot of buzz about another mountain wedding destination. Wyoming is the latest hotspot for those in the know, including Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner, who recently held their celebrity wedding in Saratoga. So why opt for a destination wedding in Wyoming? For one thing, the backdrop of the Grand Tetons is absolutely stunning! But even more than that, Wyoming is a perfect mix of high-end elegance and Western charm, as well as one of the most hospitable places you could find. From Jackson Hole to Cheyenne, here are six reasons to say “I do” in the Cowboy State.

The Breathtaking Scenery

The natural beauty of Wyoming is truly something to behold. It’s all about snow-capped peaks, desert arches, alpine lakes, big skies and wide open spaces. Whatever the season, the dramatic backdrop of the Teton Range will wow your guests and make for some incredible photographs.

A Sense of Adventure

Part of the fun of a wedding getaway is spending quality time with family and friends. You can enjoying unique experiences and activities together while making new memories. Wyoming offers plenty of options, including skiing, fishing, hiking, golfing, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, visits to Yellowstone National Park and more.

Peace and Tranquility

Another reason Wyoming is so popular with celebrity visitors is that it offers a sense of seclusion and an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Life is slower here. It truly feels like a world away!

A Luxurious Ranch Wedding

Although Wyoming has many wonderful venues, one of my favorites is Brush Creek Ranch. This exclusive working ranch set on 30,000 acres has a mix of lodge and cabin accommodations. It also boasts an onsite spa, so you and your guests can enjoy your stay in comfort. There are lots of reception spaces, depending on your wedding size, and you can also have your ceremony in either the natural stone amphitheater of the wedding garden or in the Cowboy Chapel, with its floor-to-ceiling windows.

Mouthwatering Western Food

Enjoying the local culture and cuisine is one of the best parts of a destination wedding in Wyoming! This is cattle country, so expect lots of quality beef on the menu, served with delicious farm-to-table seasonal vegetables. You could also choose to serve elk steaks, or local fish varieties like rainbow trout or kokanee salmon. Traditional ‘cowboy cuisine’ includes things like chili, biscuits, beans and jerkies, which can be incorporated into sophisticated but fun appetizers. (Chili station, anyone?) And be sure to add the traditional ‘cowboy cookie’ to your dessert display!

No Umbrella Required

Wyoming has a semiarid climate, with rainfall usually less than 10 inches per year (and under 5 at lower elevations). On the other hand, if you’re dreaming of a winter wonderland wedding, Wyoming has plenty of snow. Some mountain areas record as much as 200 inches of snow each year.

With Saratoga just a few hours north of Bella HQ, we’re looking forward to introducing this exciting wedding destination to more of our couples in 2020!
