Why Aspen is THE Wedding Hot Spot in 2019

This week we’re talking weddings in Aspen. Why? Because it’s hard to find a more spectacular setting for your wedding than among the branches of these beautiful trees, on the slopes of the amazing ski runs and in the cozy quarters of some of the best hotels in the country. So why say “I do” in Aspen? Here are six reasons Aspen is the wedding hot spot in 2019.

You can get married on top of a mountain! Did you know that one of the most acclaimed resorts in the country has a wedding venue on top of a ski mountain? The Little Nell’s wedding sundeck is absolutely perfect for outdoor ceremonies in rain, sunshine or even a little snow! It overlooks the valley at more than 11,000 feet above sea level and there’s a posh indoor party spot adjacent to the setting. If you want to wow your wedding guests, invite them up a gondola ride to get to your wedding ceremony!

The food and wine scene is on point. In case you haven’t heard of the famed Food and Wine Classic in Aspen, the best of the best come to town in June annually. But many of the top chefs in the country stay year round, open restaurants and run the most incredible hospitality programs at the resorts. If you’re a foodie, if you love great wines, or have an affinity for mixology, then Aspen will not disappoint when it comes to your wedding menu. We even have a famous local distillery you can tour and taste at – Woody Creek Distillers.

They have their own airport not far from town (or you can fly into Denver and take the long scenic route). If you fly private, no problem. If you fly commercial, they’ve got you covered too. No long drives in from the airport to your small ski town, Aspen makes it easy for travelers to come from just about anywhere.

Shopping, shopping, shopping. In a posh mountain town like Aspen, you’re sure to find fabulous shopping. But this city has it in spades. From luxury apothecaries to festive seasonal fashions and great home decor stores, if you like to shop, you’ll love to walk the streets of Aspen and stock up.

Talent counts. Along with the wonderful chefs in town, the wedding scene is growing here too. When considering a destination wedding location, it’s important to understand ahead of time if there is enough local talent to bring your vision to life or if the added expense will need to come with bringing teams of people in. Luckily Colorado has some of the brightest and most talented artists in our industry, and many of them not far from Aspen!

If you like the outdoors, it doesn’t matter the season, Aspen has it all. From fantastic skiing to hiking by streams or white water rafting, if you like adventure, Aspen has plenty of it. That’s the beauty of a town like this – you can get muddy in the day and fine dine at night. Fly fishing is as popular as wine tasting! We love to curate outdoor experiences for our wedding groups, whether before the big day or even as part of it. No sense of adventure is too big or small for us.
