We love working with our creative partners on styled shoots. It’s so much fun to flex our creative muscles, think outside the box, and try new things — and sometimes we even get to put wedding dresses on! Lead planner Samantha took the lead on this gorgeous early summer shoot, with our event producer Jaimie and her husband, Caleb, serving as models.

For the inspiration for this styled shoot at Priest Creek Chapel at Orton Ranch, we looked to the past. Our couple, separated by war, kept their love alive through letters and poetry, with the bride at home in Steamboat Springs while her true love was off in the most remote part of Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). After what seems like an eternity apart, they are reunited. Every moment together is treasured as they wander the fields and relax beneath the trees, together once again. Then, they celebrate their love and devotion to one another by finally marrying in a perfectly quaint and historic chapel.
Rich velvet fabrics and jewel-toned flowers top a table that seems to be from another time. The exotic shapes of orchids and ferns are styled against the rustic backdrop of a barn filled with antiques and lit with an antler chandelier: The perfect union of the couple’s Colorado home and the groom’s adventures and exploration in the heart of Africa. The flowers are more than decor, and are woven into the accessories as well, creating a whimsical and dreamlike state. Was their reunion real, or was it all a dream, carrying the couple until they are finally back in one another’s arms?
