Melissa and Kyle had an ideal autumn day for their wedding at the Sonnenalp Hotel in Vail, CO. They had their first look at the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, where the flora had turned radiant yellows, oranges and reds. Then, they headed to the Sonnenalp lawn along the river for an intimate ceremony followed by dinner and dancing in the gorgeous all glass atrium. One of my favorite features is that the glass ceiling can be rolled back allowing for an open sky over the dinner. Just dreamy. . .

We are so excited about the new Four Seasons! We are beyond honored to be one of the preferred partners of the Four Seasons, and we can’t wait to start planning weddings at their newest gem. The new property, Rancho Encantado, is located just minutes from downtown Santa Fe and is of course, absolutely fabulous. It is an intimate property with 65 casitas, each with beautiful views overlooking the open landscape of the New Mexico desert. Additionally, there is a fantastic outdoor ceremony location, Juniper Mesa, that offers up spectacular sunset vistas over the mountain range. The Aspen Ballroom is perfectly sized to accommodate 180 guests for a wedding celebration, with two unique adjoining terraces. The first is the Terra Courtyard, with a fireplace, “Larimer” style Bistro lights and residential soft furnishing in the classic New Mexico rich burnt orange hues. The second is the Aspen Terrace, which has lumineers lighting up the landscaping and stone accents.
This location is so spectacular, it has attracted Four Seasons talent from all over to produce dream weddings. Kelly Masten is the Director of Catering, joining the team from the Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale, and Andrew Cooper will be the Executive Chef bringing his experience and flavors from Four Seasons Hualalai in Hawaii.

Meet Scout the pup! Our little gal joined us this week. She made a long trip from a dumpster in AZ to our studio, where she is spoiled and loved. Please stop by the studio to give her a head scratch! Thank you to the Summit County Animal Shelter for taking such wonderful care of our homeless animals. Victoria loves to show her off at her t-ball games.
One of my favorite parts of my job is seeing the photos come in from a wedding. After 15 years in the business, I still never tire of it. Julie Harris, a photographer who is supreme at capturing emotion, just released some images from Anastasia and Nicholas’s wedding at the Keystone Ranch this past July. Anastasia is Russian and met Nicholas, who is second generation Lithuanian, at Thunderbird Business School. We bonded quickly over my in-depth analysis of their Baltic roots, as my mother’s father was first generation Lithuanian and I’ve always felt close to the culture. Over the years I often been told that I look Russian, so at the wedding I have to admit that I looked like the rest of the guests! So where to begin? Nicholas and Anastasia (pronounced “honest to see ya”) had a very distinct idea about how their wedding was to be presented. They wanted their beloved books and a feeling of Rocky Mountain Victorian. With much thanks to Nicholas’s mom, Jan, we accomplished this look and feel with stunning success. Many, many best wishes to the lovely couple! Го́рько!
